CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support
CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs
Instructions to Assessor:
All students must have observations/demonstrations completed for this unit of competency. The student must show evidence of the ability to complete tasks outlined in elements and performance criteria of this unit in the context of the job role.
The learner must provide personal support for at least two people undertaking a range of different personal support tasks including managing the tasks and contingencies in order to meet the assessment requirements of this unit. Personal support must be provided using suitable facilities including individualised plans which specify different personal support needs and the equipment outlined in these plans. In many cases the learner will provide personal support to more than two people in order to completely fulfil the requirements of this unit of competency. Where the full range of contexts or situations have not been provided in the workplace the Assessor will provide additional simulations, particularly for situations which relate to emergency or unplanned procedures or where assessment in these circumstances would be unsafe, impractical or threatens the dignity of the person.
Overall, assessment must involve some real interactions with people who require personal support.
If a Third Party Report is obtained the assessor must also complete observations as part of relevant simulations to validated the information provided by the Third Party and obtain direct evidence of competence.
